You know what musical instrument I love?

The banjo.

It's a really versatile instrument and, like the violin, can be super happy or super sad.

I have an iPod playlist called “Banjo Pluckin'” which is made up of songs that prominently feature the instrument.

It's small, but growing.

Friends They Are Jewels — Iron & Wine
Everyone's a V.I.P. to Someone — The Go! Team
Dusty Flourescent/Wooden Shelves — Talk Demonic
Angry Any More — Ani DiFranco
Sing — Travis
Alpha beta gaga — Air
Don't Feel Like Cryin' — Abra Moore
The Alligator Wrestler — Fitzgerald

Consider yourself in the loop

There's this blog DCist, right? It's one of the “ist” blog family. There's Bostonist, SFist, etc. and they're all about their respective cities. Well, they've got photos of the day that they pull from their respective Flickr cluster.

And guess who got a Photo of the Day. Nudge. Nudge.

I'm kind of obsessed with the top of the National Gallery, what with the blue sky against the pointy structures. Here are two more from my little mini-shoot yesterday.

If I were to get one printed, which one would be best? The first one?

Number two?
And another

Number three?
Oh, look, another
